summer isn’t canceled

+

Even though camps are closed and vacations are postponed, don't give up on summer 2020 just yet. DIY summer with Saratoga PLAN.

Below are a few ways in which you can adventure, explore, educate, and r⋅e⋅l⋅a⋅x without booking a trip, summiting the highest peaks, or sending the kids (or yourself) away.

GO ON A LETTERBOXING ADVENTURE

(…and win a prize!) Download our Nature Preserve Passport or order some to your doorstep. Then set off for an educational treasure hunt. Complete 5 preserves and claim a t shirt prize by emailing alexf@saratogaplan.org

ADD THESE BOOKS TO YOUR SUMMER READING LIST

As part of our commitment to create a more inclusive conservation community, we’re inviting you to join us on this learning journey, beginning with a few recommended books:

Black Faces, White Spaces: Reimagining the Relationship of African Americans to the Great Outdoors – Carolyn Finney

The Colors of Nature – Lauret Savoy

Braiding Sweetgrass – Robin Wall Kimmerer

We couldn’t pick just a few children’s book, so here are a handful of possibilities.

START TRAIL RUNNING

We’ve got over 20 miles of trails to explore. Lace up those sneakers!

GO ON A PICNIC

We suggest picking up a post-hike snack from Hamlet and Ghost. or a thirst-quenching Legacy Juice Works drink. Or, head to your favorite preserve and set up a little picnic, like on the dock at Round Lake Preserve.
