The Zim Smith Trail connects
Ballston Spa with Coons Crossing in the Town of Halfmoon
through the Towns of Ballston, Malta, and Clifton Park
and Round Lake Village. It is considered the backbone of
the Saratoga County trail system. Currently the segment
of trail between East Line Road in Malta and Goldfoot Road
in Round Lake has been improved by regrading and paving
to a 10 foot width. This segment can be accessed at the
Shenentaha Park, at Ruhle Road or on the North side of
the Village of Round Lake.
PROJECT STATUS
The Zim Smith Trail is one portion of an extensive county-wide
trail system envisioned by Saratoga PLAN. We are working
to secure key segments of potential trail throughout
the county in hopes of pulling together a network of
off-road pedestrian and bicycle trails.
