Save the Round Lake Preserve
Please Help Us Save the Round Lake Preserve!
Saratoga P.L.A.N. is currently working to protect 90-acres of Round Lake waterfront, wetlands, and forest along the Anthony Kill in the Town of Malta – less than one-mile from the Luther Forest Technology Park.
We are leading the partnership to protect this wonderful land, which is currently owned by the Sweeney Family. Thanks to commitments from the Town of Malta, Saratoga County Farmland and Open Space Program, and the New York State Environmental Protection Fund, we have identified most of the money to complete this project. However, we need your help to raise the remaining $50,000 needed to bring this project to fruition.
We have exercised our option to purchase this property, and anticipate a closing date sometime in February 2008. As of December 15th we raised $4,910 toward our $50,000 goal. We still need your help. Whatever you can do to help us protect this site is sincerely appreciated.
Please donate today to help save the Round Lake Preserve before it is lost to development.
Your contribution will help:
- protect a large tract of open space threatened by development in your local area
- provide safe, secluded public access to Round Lake
- provide kayak, boat and fishing access to Round Lake
- preserve over a mile of Round Lake/Anthony Kill waterfront
- establish a network of walking and hiking trails
- protect an active Great blue heron rookery and other wildlife habitat
Your support on projects like this enables Saratoga P.L.A.N. to continue working to preserve special local places. Please send in your donation today.
Sincerely,
Alane Ball Chinian
